I’m from the great state where the wind comes sweeping down the plain (Oklahoma for those not musical fans). I was born and raised a proud Okie and after receiving my degree from Oklahoma State University in Strategic Communications, I began working for a public affairs firm.
The fast-pace of politics and Washington helped me grow thick skin, learn how to be resourceful and realize that anything can be accomplished if you have at least five minutes to spare. I worked with large corporations and national trade associations to leverage their legislative messages and create fundraising campaigns for their political action committees (PACs). My experience ranges from working with financial institutions like Prudential, to tech companies like Amazon and healthcare associations like the American Dental Association (ADA). Although I enjoyed client services, I always swayed back to the more creative side – copywriting, campaign design and messaging.
After marrying a Texan, I was transplanted to Austin and have enjoyed my transformation from Okie to Austinite (unless it’s football season). Working at INK has deepened my Austin roots and given me a sense of community. In addition to working alongside great people, at INK I get to focus on content creation and messaging for our clients to help solidify their brand.
When I’m not at work you can find me at Zilker Park with my husband and our furry children, Dirk the German Shepherd and Milly, the pug/ewok. Some may say I have an unhealthy obsession with all things sugar, the Royal Family and napping. My outlook can be summed out by Albert Einstein – “Creativity is intelligence having fun.”
