Well, we did it again! We led another successful year of social media efforts for our friends at the Gazelle Foundation and Run for the Water (for the fourth year in a row, and still going strong).

Each year we manage social media for the Gazelle Foundation, an Austin-based nonprofit that builds clean water wells and other infrastructure projects throughout Burundi, Africa. We do the same for the Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Run for the Water, a 10 miler and 5K run through the hills of Austin that serves as a huge source of funding for the Foundation’s clean water projects in Burundi.

Social Butterflies

Our efforts over the past year secured more than 2.7 million impressions and nearly 2,000 new followers across the Foundation’s social media channels. They helped the Gazelle Foundation reach its highest fundraising goal for Run for the Water to-date: more than $70,000. And they helped Run for the Water reach its highest participation to date: more than 4,000 runners. That’s more than 4,000 people in Burundi that will get access to clean water for life.

Hello, Hollywood

We produced, filmed and edited a handful of videos on behalf of the Gazelle Foundation. This blog post from INK intern Ryan goes into more detail about each video.

Going Global

We worked with fellow INK client MapMyFitness to help Run for the Water go global for the first time in its history. Read up on it in this article from Pam LeBlanc or this piece from Patricia Vollmer (both of which INKer Candice secured ;)).

Run With Joy

And then, of course, we ran! Some of us ran 10 miles, some of us ran 3.1, and some of us ran the Kids’ 1K. But either way, we ran. Check us out in the slideshow above.

Last but not least – we have to give a huge shout out to Michael Madison, Run for the Water race director, for all his hard work! It paid off.
