The iPhone 6. And One More Thing!
Apple’s announcement today was pretty epic, and I think I speak for most of us INKers when I say our upcoming holiday wish lists are going to be longer than ever. Here’s why:
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screens are not only larger than those on any iPhone prior, they also feature Retina HD displays – about two times the resolution of the iPhone 5 display. Siri, you are looking quite beautiful today. (Full disclosure: I am not sure how I feel about having a huge phone, but other INKers are pumped for the large iPhone 6 Plus display size.)
Better Battery Life
At least compared to the current iPhone 5’s we’re rocking here at INK. Apple says that the new iPhone 6 batteries will be as good as – maybe better than – those in the iPhone 5S. Siri, what show should I binge on next?
Now you can make phone calls over Wi-Fi. Easy solution for my next international adventure! Siri, please schedule me an international adventure. Or when the LTE is just. Not. Working.
Tone-sensing flash, faster focus, noise reduction, bigger panoramas, image stabilization… I’m looking forward to testing out the new camera and seeing how it compares to my DSLR. After all, that upcoming international adventure will be much more pleasant with an iPhone in my pocket than with a football-sized camera around my neck. Siri, did you schedule that trip yet?
What this means: the iPhone 6 can measure motion data without draining battery life, including elevation – even stairs. This is designed for fitness apps, which I can’t seem to get enough of. Siri, maybe we should also organize my folder of fitness apps. I’m excited to see how third party developers incorporate the new processor into their apps.
Now that Apple is finally entering the mobile payment industry – a space that has yet to really reach the mass consumer – it will be interesting to watch how it all plays out. Plus, in combination with Touch ID, this will spark more security conversations. Siri, how did I spend so much so fast?
And there is ONE MORE THING.
I have never been so enticed by watching a video about… a watch. The way they showcased the wristbands. The vibrations. The taps. Even those weird heartbeat messages are intriguing. Swoon. Here’s the official site, and a hands-on review. Siri, which model should I get?
Time to get on Santa’s good side.
